Being extreme kinds of sport, freeride and heliski are associated with risk for health and life, that’s why they demand special attention on a mountain slope and hard-and-fast following the rules of safety and recommendations of certified instructors on mountain skis. On the track and out of track, you will be always accompanied by our experienced and professional guides, who are ready to help you at any moment and minimize possible factors of risk.

We do our best to take right decisions on time – our guides do not only have excellent technics of skiing out of track but also thoroughgoing knowledge of terrain’s specialties and skills of actions in extreme situations.

We guarantee responsible management of your daily program – our guides hold meetings three times a day and constantly check weather conditions for a choice of optimal routes and provision of safe and comfortable downhill; besides in Gudauri at the meteorological station specialists daily estimate level and safety of snow cover of surrounding mountain slopes.

For your comfort and safety we use the most modern and secure life-saving and searching equipment for your comfort and safety, repeatedly increasing safety of skiing and minimizing consequences of possible accidents.

Avalanche transceiver (beeper) is a special device, intended for people’s search who get in the avalanche. Everyone who is in mountains – an alpinist, a skier or a snowboarder must have an avalanche device – independently from the fact whether it is on the track or out of track.

Avalanche tube (probe) is a special rescue tool, intended for probing snow thickness when looking for people. An avalanche tube is a folding stick from 2 to 4 meters long, the sections of which are made of alloy steel, aluminum alloy, fiberglass or carbon. There is a steel or Kevlar rope, straining of which gives the tool a necessary hardness.

Avalanche spade is a light and comfortable spade of carbon or aluminum, usually with an extensible handle, intended for removal of snow cover.

Avalanche safety backpack (avalanche airbag systems) is a light and compact backpack with a safety airbag, intended for prevention of plunging of a skier under snow in case of avalanching.

In addition to rescue equipment at the place, at any moment our guides can contact a rescue team, a doctor and ambulance. In case of need of medical assistance, a helicopter will bring an injured person to a Tbilisi hospital within 20 minutes, with which Heliksir has a valid medical aid agreement
